Shepard Berg Earns Honor of August Student of the Month
Each month Western faculty and staff nominate a senior that has demonstrated leadership, academic success and rigor, and a great attitude to be named “Student of the Month.” Each student achieving this honor is awarded with a certificate as well as a scholarship from the Weston Rotary.
Shep Berg is inarguably one of the most outstanding students attending Western High School. Currently, he is first in his class, with a GPA 5.25. He is a National AP Scholar, scoring a level 5 on seven Advanced Placement exams. He is a National Merit Finalist, Senator of the National Honor Society, President of the Senior Class, Vice President of his temple, and the list goes on.
Shep embodies all of the qualities of a leader. He has been active at Western since the ninth grade and has been a class officer all four years of high school, holding the office of President for three of those years. Shep is truly an exceptional young man. He is successful in school, as well as within the community. He is generous, kind, and gives true meaning to the term, “well rounded.” Shep has donated over 700 hours to different community service programs and works tirelessly giving back to his temple.
In addition to the unmatched academic success he has achieved at Western, his role as a leader on campus, and the generous gift of time he gives to the community, he manages to be an active participant on the Debate and Tennis teams. Shep is truly one of a kind and all who have had the pleasure of knowing him and working with him are better for it.
Congratulations, Shep, on this well deserved honor!!!
