Hoping to bring joy and peace of mind to families in need in Broward County, Western High School, the main distribution site for all the donations, hosted the Harvest Drive on Tuesday November 23rd. Organized by Renee Herman, Kimberly O’Neill and Patty Bradley thanks to volunteer efforts from students, parents, teachers and many more volunteers from across the country which includes sport teams from various states. Non-perishable items were collected for families as they celebrate Thanksgiving, ranging from canned food to shampoo to baby products. Food for a Thanksgiving feast was provided as well as a week’s worth of groceries. The students of Western High School and their families are responsible for many of the donations and the time they dedicated to this charity. In addition to the hard work of the Harvest Drive Club, Student Government, HOSA, ASL, National Honor Society Western High School organized several dates to stand outside of Publix stores to collect donations from customers.
