Western’s Cross Country team consists of 7 boys and 7 girls competing in a 5K (3.1 miles) race. The 5K races take place in various parks around Broward County.  The team also participates in the annual NSU Shark Shuffle 5K Run.

    Preseason Training begins Wed, July 7, 2010

    Meet at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 9 am

    Training runs in the Shenandoah and Arboredum neighborhoods,

    Vista View Park and Western High School Track

Season Outlook: After completing its first summer training program last year, the Cross Country team dramatically improved 5K times, both individually and as a team.  The boys’ team, led by Brandon Delucca and Sebastian Perez, will look to place high in the district standings.   The girls’ team lost two outstanding seniors, Ingrid Zelaya and Nicole Youseff, and look to count on numerous underclassmen to lead the pack.
