Parents and Community Partners Support Western High!
Western High School has an outstanding Adult Volunteer Services Program. Parents and community members share their talents and enthusiasm for education to enrich the quality of our high school. We are proud to have received the prestigious Golden School Award for community service from the Broward County School Board for twelve consecutive years.

Volunteers are involved in various activities from providing clerical assistance to speaking in classrooms about careers. Parents support our outstanding athletics, clubs, and music programs. Community partners are active in our YOUTH MENTORING and READ TO SUCCEED PROGRAMS. Mentors/Reading tutors meet students one-to-one or in small groups for one hour weekly. Role models influence the lives of our young adults and guide them to be happy, healthy, and productive citizens.

Adult Volunteer Services has monthly meetings at the main campus. Upcoming Volunteer opportunities include helping with the Faculty/Staff appreciation luncheon scheduled for the spring. For more information about volunteering or mentoring please call Karen Seigel, adult volunteer coordinator, at 384-5292.
