We are writing to you on behalf of a charitable community event that the Student Organization ofAnatomy & Physiology (S.O.A.P) of West Broward High School is hosting. We are a club that strives greatly to promote a clean and healthy lifestyle amongst the student body at our campus. On Thursday, March 5th, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., we are hosting our Fourth Annual DiaBEATTHIS!, a Diabetes Awareness Staff and Student Basketball Tournament at West Broward High. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the epidemic of obesity and Diabetes in the country and to raise funds that will be donated to Diabetes Research. The event will involve the participation of Western High School, which has decided to join us in our efforts to raise awareness for the second consecutive year. DiaBEAT THIS! will host a basketball game, music, and performances from both school’s cheer squads, the WB Color Guard, Winter Percussion, and dance teams. There will also be a guest performance by the Miami HEAT Dancers.
We are truly passionate about this awareness tournament, which will be open to the entire community. We are striving for this event to be an opportunity for the whole community to join in and support awareness and prevention of obesity and Diabetes, especially in our children.
We hope that you will support and join us in attaining our goal of awareness and prevention of Diabetes by attending our 4th Annual DiaBEAT THIS! If you will be in attendance, please R.S.V.P. to Ms. Cindy Fankhauser by February 27th. We thank you in advance for your time and look forward to your presence.
