Emory University Scholars nomination forms are available in the BRACE Office. If you have a strong academic background and an interest in applying to Emory University, you may want to be considered for this prestigious award. There is a November 1st deadline.
Northwestern University will host a student-parent information session Wednesday, October 6, at the Boca Raton Marriott (Town Center), at 7:30 PM. For information, phone 561-392-4600
MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) will host a student-parent information session Wednesday, September 8, at Palm Beach Lakes High School, West Palm Beach. Phone Mr. Gustafson @ 561-747-2448 for information and directions.
The Greater Miami Performing and Visual Arts College Fair will be held Tuesday, October 26, at the Davie Signature Grand, from 7-9 PM. Students interested in Music, Visual Arts, Theatre, Dance, Graphic Design and other related disciplines, should plan to attend. The University of Florida College of Engineering will host information sessions at the Gainesville campus on several Fridays throughout the school year. Eastern Michigan University, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, is always looking for Florida students! Maybe you want to attend college "away from home"?? Research www.emich.edu . This is a competitive college which offers admission to students who may not have a high GPA.
Home Depot is looking for full, part-time & seasonal employees. If you want to go to college but don't have funding, this may be an opportunity to work and go to college, and receive tuition reimbursement up to $5000 for one calendar year. Get details in the BRACE Office.
Job Fair, Wednesday, September 22, at the North Campus of Broward Community College, 1000 Coconut Creek Blvd. 10 AM to 3 PM. This is an opportunity to network with South Florida's largest employers, and the event is open to the public.
Broward Community College offers reasonably priced SAT Prep classes. You may access the schedule in the BRACE Office. The cost of the course is $130.00.
Georgia Tech offers 60 President's Scholarships to high-achieving entering freshmen. These are full scholarships, including the cost of non-resident tuition. You must have greater than 3.0 GPA, 1250 SAT, 30ACT and have leadership qualities. You must apply for admission to Georgia Tech BEFORE October 31; there is no separate application for this scholarship. www.apply.gatech.edu
Brown University will host a student/parent information session Monday, Sept. 20 at 7 PM, at The Miami Museum of Science Auditorium, S. Miami Ave, in Miami.
