Josh Akers took first place in botany and he will be attending the state science fair from April 15-17th and receiving a special award.
Matt Garske took fourth place in the chemistry division.
Andre Giron took second place in the environmental division and will be receiving a special award.
Rebecca Roberts took 3rd place in the microbiology division.
Joanna Bomfin placed fourth in physics.
William Alicea also attended the science fair.
Oliver Powers, Adrianna Perez, Aundrea Dilanchian, and Liel Azoolin were winners of the school science fair but they did not check in at the Broward County Science Fair.
Western High School hosted its annual Science Fair
Western High School hosted its annual Science Fair on Wednesday, January 7th at 6:30 in the Media Center. Over a hundred projects were displayed and dozens of students attended to discuss their projects and explain their experimental processes and rationale to judges. Many parents also attended to view all of the outstanding scientific work conducted by our students. We are so proud of all of the entries. Below are the projects receiving the highest scores.
