AP Psychology
The course companion that is suggested is the "Cracking the AP Psychology" Princeton Review.
The book we are assigning for summer reading is called: "The Man Who Mistook his wife for a HAT" by Oliver Sacks. This book is a compilation of short stories regarding real cases of people with brain dysfunction. The assignment for the assigned book will be as follows:
Students are to describe in detail three case studies regarding a brain dysfunction. The objective is to familiarize themselves with the power of the brain and its effects on behavior, emotion, physiology, and cognition.
1)Describe symptoms of the disorder.
2)What parts of the brain have been affected to cause the anomaly in behavior and problem with "functioning".
3)Discuss an alternate possible cause that could create similar or identical symptoms as seen in the case studies you chose.
